近日,2019暑期STEM公益课堂活动走进湖州,让60名孩子就近享受优质STEM教育福利。
本次活动由吴兴STEAM教师公益团队、STEM未来计划、湖州市新华书店联合主办, 共同践行教育公益!

活动共举办三期,每期一天,学习内容是STEM课程《通信密码》,让孩子了解不同的通信方式,进而习得通信装置的制作方法。学生分析问题和逐步解决问题的过程中,逻辑思维能力及创新创造能力得到培养。
尽管暑假课程种类繁多,显然STEM课是最受家长和孩子欢迎的假期“新玩法”。三期活动的60个名额,不到1小时就被一抢而光,这热情就像目前的烈日骄阳。

一开始,学生通过抽签方式分成数个小组。通过“你划我猜”、“抱树”、“反口令”等每期不同的破冰小游戏,让来自不同学校的孩子快速熟络起来,增进了彼此合作的默契!在欢乐的气氛中,各小组正式开启这次"通信工程师"之旅。

课程先是通过真实情境:1977 年 8 月 16 日,天文学家瑞·伊曼使用大耳朵无线电望远镜,收到了一个长达 72 秒的强无线电信号。引导学生发散思考如何解读外星人的语言(这段强无线电信号),继而提出本课任务——设计一个通信装置。

学生排列从古至今出现的通信方式的顺序
利用摩斯密码发送电报,是常用的密码学信号传递方式之一。各小组学习“摩斯密码”后,开始用摩斯密码发送信号,并相互破译。

破译“摩斯密码”
接下来,各小组还利用手电筒的光照长短来简单模拟摩斯密码,进一步了解光信号传播的过程,为后续制作光信号通信装置打下基础。
制作过程中,在教师的引导下,学生根据设计图,开始通信装置的制作,确保通信装置完成“向左移动”、“向右移动”、“向前移动”、“向后移动”的信息传递。

通信装置测试与分享
测试过程中,每个小组分别派出一名发报员、一名收报员,以走迷宫的形式测试各小组的通信装置,从而不断改进优化装置。
各小组还制作了一份创意无限的说明书,向全班同学展示本组的装置,并进行说明。
